The Bowline
The Bowline is one of the only knots I know of that can be tied with one hand. It makes a loop at the end or in the middle of a rope. It’s secure and strong, but also easy to untie even after being put under a heavy load.
It can be used for everything you can think of to tie a loop around. Sailing, trailer hitching, around your waist. The list is extensive.
How To Tie
loop is made into the standing part which will act as the rabbit's hole
the "rabbit" comes up the hole
goes round the tree (standing part) right to left
and back down the hole
